I’m hearing noises in the attic, what is it?

Hearing noises in the attic can mean a couple of different things. Raccoons will make heavy sounding noises starting when it gets dark. Most of the time a raccoon entrance hole will be very noticeable from the ground. Always look at any overhang from additions or windows because raccoons will walk up the soffit and use their bodies to push the soffit up and gain entry into your home.

Squirrels will be more active in the mornings and will sound like running. A squirrel will have a smaller opening than a raccoon and if you have wooden soffits then they can chew right through it with their sharp teeth.
